Handwritten on the back of the photo, "Black Panther Bill Brent points to the Court House (County jail) and shouts 'Huey must go Free!'" Clipping from Tribune, June 21, 1969-"Bill Brent last year, at 'Free Huey' rally here." Photo shows Brent wearing the black leather jacket and beret of the Black Panthers. He is shouting and has his left arm in the air, over his head, and is pointing to something (apparently the court house). Protest was for the release of Huey Newton, the leader of the Black Panthers, who was arrested and tried for shooting a police officer. Many demonstrations were held in front of the courthouse during the proceedings. Brent was later involved with the hijacking of a commercial airplane.
