There are two Tribune clippings attached to the back of the photo. The first, dated March 31, 1974, reads "Even in 1884 Lakeside Park was catering to children, only then it was Adams Point.." The second, dated May 1, 1952, [Centennial Edition] reads "Lakeside Park has always catered to the kids--whether in 1952 with its wonderful Children's Fairyland or in 1884 when it wasn't Lakeside Park at all but Adams Point, and this crude teeter-totter was the delight of the young." The photo shows the Lake in the background, oak trees on the shore, and four men separated from each other by a dozen or more feet, with the man at left standing next to a crude teeter-totter.
