Caption reads: "Manacled -- Burton W. Abbott, shackled to a fellow prisoner, enters a sheriff's car for trip to San Quentin. Fred Bormann, deputy sheriff, watches in background." Abbott was sentenced to die in the gas chamber at San Quentin. He was executed on March 15, 1957.
