The Tribune photo, dated July 1, 1937, has the following caption on the back: "WASHINGTON, July 1--Spreading over many green acres on both sides of the Potomac River are these squares of light brown canvas--the tent "town" which will be the home for the next ten days for 25,000 Boy Scouts attending the Jamboree. The camp is divided into regions, each with its cook tents and mess tents and its shower baths. There is a general headquarters covering several acres and a new stadium to seat thousands. This is only one section of the Jamboree camp as seen from thea ir today." The Potomac River can be seen at right upper, and the Washington Monument is at left upper.
