Handwritten on the back, "Protesters on Market St. S.F. Police pushed marchers off street." Tribune caption, June 22, 1985- "San Francisco police attempt to restrain anti-apartheid protesters on Market Street." Photo shows a good-size, racially mixed, group of protestors standing on a sidewalk on Market Street. Police officers on foot and on horseback are standing in the street in front of the protestors holding them to the sidewalk. The protestors are carrying signs protesting against apartheid and appear to be shouting.
