The Tribune photo, dated March 31, 1984, has the following caption on the back: "The 1923 Mediterranean style mansion is mirrored in the reflecting pool at Blake Gardens." The house is in the background, framed by sycamore trees on both sides of a rectangular reflecting pool at center. All that can be seen of the house is an arched doorway, a balcony, and Spanish tile roof. The garden is formal, laid out bisymmetrically. In the foreground there is an elevated stone rampart entranceway, separated in the middle only by a simple railing with vertical bars.
