[Projects identified in capital letters on the photo as follows] They are (A) Culverting of Walnut Creek stream channel and building of new street over it; (B) extension of Mt. Diablo Blvd.; (C) extension of Cypress St.; (D) Lincoln Ave. widened with new creek bridge; (E) extension of West Broadway,; (F) new California Blvd from Newell Ave. to Mt. Diablo Blvd." The photo taken almost directly over downtown Walnut Creek shows the city bounded on the north [not shown] and south by what is now Interstate 680 forming two legs of a triangle. A park, industrial buildings, and houses are scattered throughout the photo.
