There is no identifying information on the back of the photo, but this is probably a section of I-680, connecting Danville and Concord. The freeway in the photo forms a lazy "S" from lower left to upper right. There is a gap on which vegetation is still present in the finished roadway at center and lower left. There is the beginning off either an off ramp (at lower left) or a new hiway; their concrete piers are in place over what may have been a creek or wash. Housing tracts are at right lower and upper left.
