On the back of the photo Oakland Tribune hand written "4 Col Tunnel 1st Thrusday". On the back of the photograph there are two stamped dates of OCT 29, 1963 and OCT 31, 1963. There is a newspaper article pasted on the back with a stamp of "INL OCT 31 1963 Workmen, three-quarters finished with the $10.4 million Caldecott Tunnel, put up tile ceiling". The photograph shows six construction workers wearing hard hats inside of tunnel. There are white crop marks on both sides and top.
