Original envelope read, "Democratic National Convention 1920." Negative shows a man standing sideways. He is wearing a suit with a bowtie and a hat. He is probably a delegate to the convention. Negative is out of focus. The 1920 Democratic National Convention was held in San Francisco June 28 at the urging of President Woodrow Wilson. The party pledged ratification of the Treaty of Versailles and supported the League of Nations. The nominee was Governor James M. Cox of Ohio and Franklin D. Roosevelt, then assistant secretary of the navy, for vice-president. The Republican nominee was Warren G. Harding, who went on to win the election.
