Original envelope read: "Prusiner, Dr. Stanley Neurologist & Biochemist" Photograph shows Dr. Stanley Prusiner and Darlene Groth, both in white lab coats, examining something in a glass tray on a lightbox. Clipping pasted to verso reads: "Dr. Stanley B. Prusiner, right, and Darlene Groth study gel in UC hospital.", the clipping is stamped: "THU JUL 11 1985". Verso also has a sheet of white paper attached with adhesive tape. The paper is printed with text in black indicating that the photo came from University of California San Francisco News / Public Information Services, and providing the cutline, photographer, and date of the photograph. Verso has hand written note in ink: "Researchers / D-1-1x 7-11-85 / w/Hormone / Uf 50 cc 28p".
