Content description:
Photograph shows a policeman and several other rescue workers lowering a man on a stretcher down a fire ladder which is leaning up against the collapsed Cypress Structure which they are standing on. A man with a video camera is tapping the episode from a short distance away. Smashed cars are on the top deck of the structure and smoke billowing from the second deck. This was one of several photograph taken in the aftermath of the Quake which won the Oakland Tribune a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the event.
