A city of some 6000 persons, Crockett is the site of the C & H Sugar Refinery, largest sugar can refinery in the world, which employs approximately 1800 people. The refinery's sprawling building are on the waterfront, directly behind the Carquinez Bridge in the photo. The John Swett High School and newly reconditioned athlete field can be seen at right center. Crockett is also regarded as a prize spot by striped bass fishermen. The photo was taken by Les Sipes of The Tribune, flying in a plane piloted by Merle Larson of Buchanan Field." Photo is an aerial view of Crocket.
