On the back of the photo is "with st, Mrs. Whipple, 1 col (head) 1st fun" in pencil, "Whipple #1, 1st Tues, 3 col" in pen, and "FLOP" in red pencil. It is stamped with "Art Vargas AUG 16 1963." There are two newspaper clippings attached to the back of the photo. The older one has the caption "Mrs. Laura Whipple holds on of her rare first editions, her treasure trove is the accumulation of a long and happy lifetime." It is stamped with "TR D AUG 22 1963." The second clipping has the caption "Mrs. Laura Whipple Recalls early day Niles" and is stamped "TR 3C MAR 8 - 1964."
